Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
The Technical Consultant Pre-Sales for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) will support Software Sales Managers and Value Added Resellers (VARs) based throughout Russia for customers, especially in the utility businesses in Russia. The role is embedded in the Pre-Sales team in EMEA. This group is made up of in total 15 Technical Consultants based at Company offices throughout the regions to provide support locally in the appropriate language, whilst also sharing skills, materials and equipment from other regions when required. The team is geographically dispersed.
Major objectives:
- Provide business analysis and consultancy on Software solutions in the Company business
- Demonstrate Company Software products capabilities, especially the GIS product suite
- Provide product expertise in answering Requests for Proposals
- Contribute to growth through consultancy, support and training of VARs to execute Pre-Sales responsibilities
Other responsibilities:
- Understand the market in Russia and observe trends pertaining to GIS Software offerings.
- Develop and improve the growth contribution of the Pre-Sales team through continuously working on the quality and efficiency of VAR and Sales support.
- Work closely with the Sales Managers / Partner Managers to ensure that Company keeps close to the customer in spite of indirect sales channels (VARs).
- Find creative ways to engage and manage customer relationships and help close sales.
- Work closely with the Commercial Operation functions to ensure that solution proposals to our customers (directly or via VARs) meet customer expectations.
- Work closely with Market Communication functions to support good representation of GIS Software at trade fairs, exhibitions, and user days.
- Work with Marketing Program Managers and Segment leaders to support input of customer feedback to future product planning.
- Prepare for future Sales, Marketing or other specialist s leadership positions.
1.1 Qualifications/Requirements:
- University level degree in Engineering plus 5 years experience in the GIS market or - University level degree in Computer Since or Business Informatics plus 5 years experience in the market and GIS applications.
- 3 years experience with (some) products in the GIS product suite.
- Fluency in English and Russian.
- Proven business analytical and product experience with a strong customer focus.
- Proven ability to work both within a technical and a commercial environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and able to communicate with customers on technical as well as management level
- Flexibility and preparedness to travel in Russia as well as Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
